Valerie Harper's health has reportedly gone from bad to worse contrary to earlier reports that said she was resting comfortably after being rushed to the hospital from the Ogunquit Playhouse in Maine on Wednesday.

The 75-year-old Harper has fallen into a coma, according to Entertainment Tonight. She was found unconscious backstage at the theater where was performing in the musical, "Nice Work If You Can Get It."

A medic-vac transferred Harper to a larger hospital for further treatment, a source told ET. Earlier reports said that the "Mary Tyler Moore" actress had been discharged from the hospital on Thursday.

"It doesn't look good," the source said.

The show's director told the audience at Wednesday night's performance that "[Harper] wants all of you to know after some fluids and rest, she hopes to be right back here on stage later this week."

Harper was diagnosed with terminal brain cancer in 2013 after she beat lung cancer in 2009. As of last year, the cancer had not spread beyond her brain.

"In a way, it's a positive thing to know that a year's gone by and it's nowhere else in my body. So I am cancer free from the neck down, so far," she told ET in April 2014.
