The USA National Basketball team is expecting upwards of 40 players to attend training camp in a little less than a month. There have been a few players that are confirmed to go but there is one huge name everyone is still curious about and that would be LeBron James. James has yet to say either way whether he will play in the 2016 Olympics or if he will take the next couple of summers off but USA Basketball executive director Jerry Colangelo seems to think that James wants to play in the next Olympics according to Marc J. Spears of Yahoo Sports.

Colangelo was asked if he expects LeBron to be on the USA team for the Olympics to which he responded by saying it's not his call but if he wants to play he will play. As far as if James has said either way Colangelo thinks he knows which way he is leaning.

"I think he is intent on wanting to play for USA Basketball and be in the Olympics next year," said Colangelo.

James has been to the NBA Finals in five consecutive seasons therefore he has played more games than just about everyone in the world over that span including the 2012 Olympics. In his career, at just age 30, James has already played in 1,089 NBA games regular season and playoffs combined. James is as fit as an athlete can be and he keeps himself in great shape but even he has to wear down at some point from all of the games he has been playing.

Nobody knows what decision LeBron will make but if he did decide to not play in the 2016 Olympics it would be hard to blame him as he deserves the rest and his main focus should be on bringing a Championship to Cleveland. Colangelo seems to think that James is going to play in the Olympics but until we hear official word from him or his people it is anyone's guess.

In other Cleveland Cavaliers, Olympics news Tristan Thompson might not play for Canada because of his unresolved contract issue. James has said he really wants Thompson back but Thompson's situation likely has no effect on James' decision to play for the United States.
