Investigators claim that a former high-ranking corrections officer is accused of abusing his power at a woman's prison in southeast Georgia by taking advantage of their weaknesses and forcing some of them to have sex with him.

Edgar Daniel Johnson allegedly molested and caressed women and even went to the extent of forcing some of them to have sex with him, according to sworn statements filed in warrant applications by an investigator for the Georgia Department of Corrections, My Way News reported.

"Mr. Johnson vehemently denies the allegations, and we look forward to having the opportunity to confront these charges in court," Kendall Gross, Johnson's attorney, said, according to ABC 13.

After the allegations came into light, the warden at the prison started an immediate investigation.

"We take very seriously allegations of this nature, which cause unjust risk and harm to the individuals we supervise as well as the safe operation of our facilities," said Lisa Rodriguez-Presley, the spokesperson for the Georgia Department of Corrections, in an email according to the Boston Herald.
