Chelsea Handler will start her Netflix transition later this year hosting a film series called "Chelsea Does" in which she will explore topics such as marriage, racism, technology and drugs. As for the latter, Handler will indulge in one life-altering drug that could change her entire perception of show business.

"This could be it," the 40-year-old comedian joked during her Netflix panel at the Television Critics Association summer press tour on Tuesday. "I'll make sure it's the last thing I do in the series of docs."

Except for her Netflix comedy special and topless selfies, Handler has mainly stayed off-screen since leaving her E! late-night series, "Chelsea Lately," last year. She bought a home in Spain and hoped to learn how to speak Spanish.

"I just liked it there and thought I could learn the language," she said.

Her time away has kept her from commenting on the latest celebrity gossip, including Caitlyn Jenner's transition and Donald Trump's presidential campaign. Handler watched Jenner's interview with Diane Sawyer but didn't care enough to catch the premiere of Jenner's new E! series "I Am Cait."

"I didn't watch the premiere. What network is that on?" she joked.

Handler later told reporters, "There is a lot of publicity and it's an interesting 'journey' and I will use that word, as that's what it is to watch. It feels very timely, and I definitely was very interested in the Diane Sawyer interview and after that I kind of lost interest. I feel it's a lot at the same time. I feel there is a way to make a statement that could be powerful then kind of let it breathe a little bit."

She also hasn't paid much attention to presidential race except for a few stories on Hillary Clinton. As for Trump, she doesn't see him sticking around for the long term and called his candidacy "not a serious thing."

Handler is still figuring out the format of her talk show, but doesn't want to do a nightly show. She plans to put up a couple news episodes per week and promises to "be in your face, don't worry."
