Marvel fans, yesterday at the Television Critics Association's Summer Press Tour, Netflix's Chief Content Officer Ted Sarandos confirmed that the network will premiere its second Marvel TV series after the smashing success of "Daredevil."

"Jessica Jones" will be available for streaming sometime in late 2015, presumably November or December. Krysten Ritter ("Breaking Bad") will star as the titular super heroine who investigates mysterious crimes. David Tennant ("Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire") will star as nemesis Dr. Zebediah Killgrave (a.k.a. The Purple Man), while Mike Colter will portray the super powered Luke Cage before receiving his own spinoff show on Netflix down the line.

Executive Producer Melissa Rosenberg, who developed the series, said via Nerdist that Jessica Jones was an "incredibly flawed, damaged, interesting character regardless of gender. It was the character that drew me."

Sarandos also confirmed what fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe have long suspected: that all four of Netflix's Marvel series ("Daredevil," "Jessica Jones," "Luke Cage," and "Iron Fist") will team up Avengers-style for a Netflix special series known as "The Defenders."
