An anti-abortion group has claimed responsibility for hacking Planned Parenthood. The women's healthcare provider has been in the news of late after videos emerged showing officials from the organization casually discussing the sale of body parts of aborted fetuses for profit, according to CNN.

The hackers, including one who goes by the pseudonym "E," infiltrated the organization's website and obtained employees' personal information and also gained access to the non-profit's databases on Sunday night, The Daily Dot reported.

"E" said that the hack was politically motivated. "Trying to mold an atrocious monstrosity into socially acceptable behaviors is repulsive," said E. "Obviously what [Planned Parenthood] does is a very ominous practice. It'll be interesting to see what surfaces when [Planned Parenthood] is stripped naked and exposed to the public."

The group of anti-abortion hackers has threatened to decrypt and release internal Planned Parenthood emails "soon." However no emails have been released yet.

Dawn Laguens, executive vice president of the Planned Parenthood Federation of America, said that the organization has informed the Justice Department as well as the FBI of the infiltration by the hackers, who he refers to as "extremists who oppose Planned Parenthood's mission and services."

"We are working with top leaders in this field to manage these attacks," Laguens wrote. "We treat matters of safety and security with the utmost importance, and are taking every measure possible to mitigate these criminal efforts to undermine our mission and services," according to The Washington Post.
