With the iPhone 5S expected to drop in the very near future on Sept. 10, a lot of rumors have been flying around as to what fans can expect at Apple's press event. Below is a roundup of most of the things rumored for an unveiling at the highly anticipated event. Think of it as a guide to the unveiling for the uninitiated.

iPhone C: The iPhone C will be Apple's low-cost version of the iPhone 5. The company is reportedly hoping to get a foothold in the low-end smartphone market by offering users this device instead. Previously Apple's only share in the low-end smartphone market, currently dominated by Android phones, was to have older generation iPhones available. With Apple's new trade-in program starting on Friday, it lends credence to these rumors. Theoretically Apple is trying to get all of its older model iPhones off the streets so it can more easily control the fate of the iPhone C. The new device will have a plastic backing that will be offered in a variety of colors including yellow, green, blue, red and white. It will have roughly the same features as the iPhone 5 but with a significant price reduction for the low-income Apple fan.

Fingerprint scanner: Apple has had a few patents out on finger print scanners for a while. Some reports claim this will mean a new Home button made of sapphire instead of plastic. In addition it could come out of the phone at a concave angle as opposed to the traditional sunken in or, convex angle. Several leaks form sites like 9to5Mac and MacRumors of potential photos show the inner workings of the alleged iPhone 5S models with room built in for a biometric scanner.

Gold Champagne and Silver Graphite: With the iPhone C coming out in a variety of colors for a lower price, Apple will need to make sure its low-cost iPhone doesn't overshadow its flagship smartphone, the 5S. In order to do that, the 5S will come with better features and possibly new colors. What better way to showcase that you've purchased the high-end smartphone from the company than to sport it in a gold champagne color with a black trim. If that doesn't appeal to you, as it's not expected to in any market except China and India, then perhaps a graphite iPhone with a black trim is more suited to your taste. The two color options are rumored to be added to the black and white repertoire that the iPhone has become famous for over the years.

iOS 7: Apple unveiled iOS 7 at it's World Wide Developer's Conference in June. Since that time it's only been available for registered developers in beta testing. However, the beta tests have reached a limit comparable to previous releases. Although the iOS 7 beta is the largest and most revolutionary one since the iPhone first came out, odds are good it's ready for release. In addition, it is highly unlikely that Apple would launch a new device that doesn't run on the new iOS. So for those who have been waiting for a software update from the company, it is more than likely it will come no later than Sept. 10 at the major press event.

iWatch: This isn't the most likely candidate but as several tech blogs have pointed out over the course of this year, the late founder of the company, Steve Jobs, always used to like to add just one more thing to the end of his unveilings as a bit of a topper. The only thing in the rumor mill out of Apple is its not-so-secret wearable wrist accessory the iWatch. With competitor Samsung unveiling it's Galaxy Gear smartwatch on Sept. 4, it would be a good time for Apple to wow fans with its first foray into wearable technology as well.
