With the iPhone 5S expected to be debuted at a press event held by Apple on Sept. 10, many have been wondering exactly what this means for the highly anticipated iOS 7 update to almost every mobile device from the company. It is unlikely that Apple will release a new device and force it to run on the old iOS for a couple weeks. This has led many to believe Sept. 10 will be the launch date for the iOS 7 as well. Now, new reports from Nuance hint at that very fact.

In an e-mail sent to developers using Nuance's speech technology in their iPhone and iPad apps, the company claims it has knowledge of the release date of the new iOS 7 software and tells its employees to prepare for a September 10 launch.

"As you are probably aware, iOS 7 GA will be released on September 10," the e-mail unambiguously reads. However, despite the announcement, it has to be taken with a grain of salt. As GottaBeMobile points out, it's unlikely that Nuance would know Apple's plans for iOS 7's release. In addition, typically the iOS would come out with a Golden Master release that would be the last beta phase before becoming available for all consumers. It is more likely that September 10 will be the release of the Golden Master and the actual release to the public will happen on Sept. 18, according to estimates from GottaBeMobile based on previous releases. This will coincide with the likely launch date of the iPhone 5S. While it will be revealed on the 10, it will probably take a week to roll it out to stores and adequately prepare them for the demand.

The iOS 7 release will bring a bevy of new feature to all Apple mobile devices. The upgrades include animations,  a new Control Center, revamped Notification Center, updates to Siri, including new languages and gender.
