Demi Lovato is thrilled to be joining the cast of "Glee" for season 5, especially since she'll be playing the sexy love interest of Naya Rivera's character, Santana. Though rumor has it her role as struggling NYC artist Dani may be rewritten, she and Rivera will be singing a very special song together, and we're betting they'll share a on-screen kiss!

Lovato has been excitedly tweeting about her time on the set of the hit FOX show, and fans are eager to watch the star return to acting for the first time since 2010 after she left her Disney channel show "Sonny With a Chance."

In a recent red carpet interview with MTV News, Nivera spilled that Lovato would be playing her "love interest" on the show, revealing that she would make her first appearance on a special Beatles episode, in which their two characters work together at a lesbian bar, though Lovato's role is subject to change as Rivera wasn't supposed to leak the news.

According to The Hot Hits, Lovato and Rivera will be singing a duet of "Here Comes the Sun" by The Beatles together! Also joining the cast this season will be Adam Lambert, whose character is reportedly interacting quite a bit with Lovato's, and the two will likely be singing some songs together.

It's been a very busy year for Demi Lovato, as she's not only released her fourth studio album "Demi," but has returned as a judge and mentor for the third season of the U.S. "The X-Factor." She's released two singles from the album so far, including the smash "Heart Attack" and patriotic love anthem "Made In The USA," and Hollywood Records source Chachi recently revealed on Twitter that we'll "definitely" be getting a third single from the album.

"I think this album is my best album yet, and I'm so excited to start performing the new songs," Lovato, who will go on tour next year, told the San Antonio Express-News. "I opened up a lot on this album and spoke about things I have never discussed before. But there are also a ton of feel-good, upbeat songs that are fun to sing in your car or with your girlfriends."

Though it's unclear what song she'll pick next for her third single, we're placing our bets on her duet with Cher Lloyd, "Really Don't Care," which she's already performed live several times with the former U.K. "X-Factor" contestant.

You can catch Lovato on "Glee" on Oct. 3, as so far the star has signed on for six episodes, though there's the possibility her contract may get renewed if she becomes a fan favorite. We're keeping our fingers crossed that she does, because in our opinion, Santana deserves more than a temporary love interest!
