1) July 2015 Toronto Pan Am Games

The Canadian sports event boasted various athletic competitions spread across 16 days. West was scheduled to perform during the closing ceremony on July 26, but not if angry Canadians had their way. A Change.org petition titled "Don't have Kanye West headline the closing ceremony for the Toronto Pan American Games" collected 54,107 of its goal of 75,000 signatures, which didn't stop the rapper from performing on Sunday night. The description on the website stated that the problem wasn't with West, but the organizer's decision to not include a Canadian artist in the event.

"The options for Toronto artists are far from limited and choosing someone like Kanye West raises several concerns among the people," the statement reads. "Why was a local artist or group not chosen and supported, just as our local athletes are throughout the games?"

2) June 2015 Glastonbury Festival

Fans of the legendary British music festival were not happy when West was announced as the Saturday headliner. Kings Lynn resident Neil Lonsdale started a Change.org petition titled "Cancel Kanye West's headline slot and get a rock band." The petition gained 135,950 supporters, but fell short of its goal of 150,000 signatures.

"Kanye West is an insult to music fans all over the world," Lonsdale wrote in the petition's description. "We spend hundreds of pounds to attend [sic] glasto, and by doing so, expect a certain level of entertainment."

3) April 2015 Florida Ban

A Florida man sought a restraining order from Kanye West and his wife Kim Kardashian in April. The 44-year-old sex offender asked a Tampa federal judge to grant an emergency restraining order against the couple, as HNGN previously reported.

"I think it's safe to say we as a country are sick and tired of the Kardashians and most of all Kimberly and her self proclaimed best rapper rock star on the planet, Kanye West," Wayne Richard Albright wrote. "This task America has placed on your shoulders won't be an easy one, but we all have faith in your ability to get the job done. So, whatta say, make us all proud."

U.S. District Judge Edward Honeywell denied Albright's request because Albright failed to show that he was at risk of harm by the couple, according to the Tampa Bay Times.

4) February 2015 Fashion Week Ban

West launched his fashion career with the "Kanye West x adidas" runway show and Kardashian was there for support, sitting in the front row with their daughter North West. When the toddler threw a temper tantrum during the show, Vogue editor and fashion elite Anna Wintour banned all children from future fashion week events, in what VH1 called the "North West Rule."

5) March 2014 Vogue Boycott

West and his wife were photographed for the cover of the April 2014 issue of Vogue, which sparked controversy in the fashion world. Many people felt the couple did not meet the high standards that the magazine strived for, and actress Sarah Michelle Gellar was so outraged that she called for a boycott of the magazine on Twitter. "Well......I guess I'm canceling my Vogue subscription," she wrote. "Who is with me???"
