Disney is continuing its new strategy of reimagining classic animated films into full-length, live-action movies. The latest animated movie getting the live-action treatment is the 1963 classic "The Sword in the Stone." Disney has nabbed "Game of Thrones" writer Bryan Cogman to pen the script for the project, which will be produced by Brigham Taylor, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

The original film, based loosely on T.H. White's novel of the same name, tells the story of young King Arthur. The film follows the 12-year-old orphan, who became king after removing a sword from an anvil in London, according to Variety.

Disney has already hit it big at the box office with live-action remakes of "Alice in Wonderland," "Maleficent" and "Cinderella." There are several live-action movies currently in the works at Disney, including "Beauty and the Beast," starring Emma Watson; "The Jungle Book," with the voices of Bill Murray and Scarlet Johansson; "Mulan"; "Dumbo"; and an "Aladdin" prequel called "Genies."

"The Sword in the Stone" was the final movie released before Walt Disney's death in 1966, according to E!
