Miley Cyrus' MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) performance is entering day three of bashing, and conservatives around the world are throwing major shade on the twerking pop star.

MSNBC host Mika Brzezinski went on the TODAY show to discuss the hot topic with Matt Lauer, Star Jones and Dr. Nancy Snyderman. Brzezinski did not hold back her thoughts of Cyrus' performance.

"There's pushing the envelope and there's porn, there's raunchy porn that's disgusting and disturbing and seeing... a 20 year old young woman literally in the process of her undoing and everyone clapping for it and being disturbed by it and talking about it and showing it, which I hope we don't," Brzezinski said. "Don't show it here on my segment, please."

Lauer disagreed with Brzezinski, stating he is shocked people were "shocked" over Cyrus' performance. He added Cyrus is a paid performer who will continue to be provactive. Brzezinski then went on the defensive.

"Oversexualized is one thing. Is it sexual to stick your face in the face of a life-size teddy bear and stick your tongue out? We're talking about raunch, we're not talking about sexualization," Brzezinski said.

Many words come to mind about Cyrus' performance: odd, bizarre, awkward, uncomfortable, unsexy, lacking in twerk rhythm. However, Brzezinski went as far as to say executives from MTV should be fired.

Brzezinski may have gone too far suggesting people should be fired at MTV. MTV does not have a responsibility to parent your child; the VMAs have always been meant to entertain adults. MTV is full of adult programming, and though they do cater some shows to teens, it is not the network's responsibility to monitor what your child is watching.

The overwhelming consensus is Cyrus' performance was bad, and entertaining for the wrong reasons. However, Star Jones put it best on the TODAY Show panel: "Hannah Montana died a long time ago."
