A UK-based start-up company is trying to cure the way online self-diagnosis works through its latest online app, Your.MD.

The new health service uses artificial intelligence to make its recommendations based on the symptoms that the user provides. It would also ask follow-up questions so that it can narrow down the options until it finds the most likely illness - just like how human doctors do, according to Express.

The AI incorporated in this app hopes to end the nerve-triggering recommendations that pop out on a regular Google search, helping solve the flaws of the system and eliminating untrustworthy data.

Your.MD gathers its data from the National Health Service, thus assuring users that it only provides quality medical information.

Your.MD is using the Apple Store and Google Play as its distribution network, which allows the app to bypass government bureaucracy. There is still no definite claim that the app would ultimately take over for a human family doctor, iTech Post reports.

The app also purports to provide services to underdeveloped regions of the world, with the thinking that the app could be the closest thing to a real doctor that some people could ever afford in certain regions.
