Robots seem to play an increasingly pertinent part of people's daily lives. Just last month, an HNGN article covered the story of an online supermarket in the U.K. that utilizes robots to aid its employees in their work. Japan, a world leader in robotics technology, takes the concept much further.

Japan has introduced Henn-na Hotel, the world's first hotel that is almost fully-manned and operated by robots.

Hideo Sawada, who runs the hotel, says that the Henn-na Hotel, which translates to "Weird Hotel" in English, is not a gimmick but rather a serious effort to utilize technology and achieve maximum efficiency, reports MSN News.

Everything in the hotel is almost fully manned by robots. From checking in to the hotel through a multi-lingual dinosaur receptionist to an Aldebaran robot concierge that answers questions, guests will be interacting with robots during their entire stay at the hotel.

Other robots are stationed in the hotel's lobby, greeting visitors, serving coffee, and some, even printing out pictures for the guests on the spot, reports Mashable.

Robots also bring the guests' luggage to their room, which are opened using facial recognition technology.  "I wanted to highlight innovation," Sawada said. "I also wanted to do something about hotel prices going up."

A night at the Henn-na Hotel starts at 9,000 yen, which is equivalent to 80 dollars. The price is quite low for Japan, where good hotels cost about two or three times as much.
