A video clip of a teenage boy brutally beaten to death in Bangladesh has gone viral on social media, sparking mass outrage across the country. Thirteen-year-old Samiul Islam Rajon was beaten to death on July 8 after being accused of stealing a rickshaw van in the northeastern city of Sylhet, reported BDNews24. One of his four killers filmed the brutal lynching and uploaded the video on the internet.

The 28-minute video shows Rajon tied to a pole. One of suspects is seen beating him with a stick, demanding that he admit that he stole the van.

"Rajon died of brain hemorrhage and around 64 injury marks were found in his body," local police officer Akhtar Hossain said, according to Daily Star.

Police have filed criminal case against four people. One of suspects confessed after being arrested in Saudi Arabia. "I have made a mistake, please forgive me," said the main suspect Kamrul Islam, who fled to the Saudi city of Jeddah immediately after the attack, according to Al Jazeera.

Thousands of people in Dhaka and Sylhet city organized mass protests, demanding maximum punishment for the killers. "I am disheartened and angry over this kind of barbaric murder. We have reached such a stage where Rajan was beaten to death before the eyes of everyone while the people were laughing but not protesting," Human-rights activist Khushi Kabir said during a demonstration in Dhaka, according to BDNews24.
