Anthony Davis, the New Orleans Pelicans superstar, has a new pet monkey.

Davis apparently bought the pet, "to deter any further boredom," which the monkey does by keeping him company and helping him pass the time, SB Nation reported. Aside from that, he has another interesting subject for his Instagram photos.

Bleacher Report's Ric Bucher first shared the news on Twitter, saying, "Anthony Davis' marmoset. Yes, AD has a pet marmoset & someone to carry it. Yes, that's a tiny diaper." The tweet comes with a photo of the cute monkey being carried by a guy.

The basketball player shared a photo of the marmoset on his Instagram with the caption "Young Meek!" but didn't indicate that it is his pet. The little monkey, named Meek, has captured the hearts of many with nearly 18,000 likes on its Instagram photo.

Marmosets are vulnerable to predation by mammals and birds because of their size. Male and female marmosets are about the same size, with males measuring, on average, 188 mm (7.40 in) and females having an average height of 185 mm (7.28 in), Primate Info Net reported. As for their weight, males have slightly higher average weights at 256 g (9.03 oz), while females are at 236 g (8.32 oz).
