Regis Philbin and Kathie Lee Gifford spent 15 years on TV together, and now Philbin will be returning to daytime TV to reunite with Gifford on her current gig.

On this morning's episode of NBC's "The Today Show," which Gifford co-hosts alongside Hoda Kotb, Philbin, 83, dropped by with a very special announcement while the three, naturally, had drinks at a bar. They went on to explain that Philbin will be joining "Today" as a fourth-hour contributor and that he will be participating in the show once a month.

"I wish we had him every day, but he's very busy," Gifford said.

"Regis brings his legendary charm and humor each time he visits 'Today,'" co-executive producer Tammy Filler said, according to The Wrap. "His energy is infectious, and when Regis is around, you never know what will happen."

He and Gifford hosted "Live! With Regis and Kathie Lee" for 15 years until she left the show to be replaced by Kelly Ripa. Ripa and Philbin co-hosted the show until he retired in 2011. Philbin was well-loved on the show and he went on to earn 24 Daytime Emmy nominations, six of which he won, and he also took home a Lifetime Achievement Award.

Last month, Gifford opened up about how happy she was that she and Philbin could be working together again soon. "I've been asking for a long, long time if Regis can come be with me and Hoda," the 61-year-old talk show host told Closer Weekly. "I'm so excited. We are just such great buds."

At the time, Philbin also revealed that he would be on board, saying, "I'm not doing anything right now, so if she needs me, I'm there."
