"House of Cards" has added Neve Campbell as a series regular for season four, according to Deadline.

No other details were released on the character Campbell will play when the Netflix series returns in 2016. She may play one half of the rumored new, young couple looking to challenge Frank Underwood and his wife, Claire.

President Underwood and the First Lady were on the cusp of a possible break up when the third season closed. Whether Frank can carry on without Claire will be a key focus next season, creator Beau Willimon told The Hollywood Reporter.

"A lot of the strength of the show is based on the strength of that marriage. But as soon as we began to explore that, we realized there was no turning back," Willimon said in April. "We also realized we'd laid the groundwork in the previous two seasons for this conflict between Francis and Claire, and the more we began exploring it, the more inevitable it became. And the more exciting it was for us to travel that emotional terrain."

Kevin Spacey, Robin Wright and the rest of the "House of Cards" cast will start filming the fourth season later this summer in the Baltimore area.

The 41-year-old Campbell will appear in the upcoming season of the NBC comedy, "Welcome to Sweden." She's best known for her roles in "Scream," "The Craft" and on the '90s family drama, "Party of Five."

"House of Cards" will return in 2016.
