Country singer Brantley Gilbert now has a wife to write love songs about. The star recently married his fiancée Amber Cochran, E! News reports.

The ceremony was held at his home in Georgia, a source told E! News. Cochran, a school teacher from Gilbert's hometown, has been the inspiration behind many of Gilbert's songs and he describes his wife as the one who "almost" got away, according to People.

"Amber is an amazing person and has inspired a lot of my songs from 'More Than Miles' to 'You Don't Know Her Like I Do' for the last 10 years," Gilbert told People before the wedding. "I'm a blessed man to have her back in my life and can't wait to make her my wife."

The newlyweds met 10 years ago at church and Gilbert said they had an off-and-on relationship for five years. Gilbert confessed he had made some bad choices in the past that led to their breakup. Like a line in one of his country songs, he told People, "Losing her, it was a straight downhill jolt at first."

"She's the one that got away for five years, and they always say if you love something you've got to let it go, and if it's meant to be, it'll come back," Gilbert continued. "It's so cliché, but now it happened to me. So I'm a believer."

The couple got engaged last October, according to Us Weekly. In 2013, Gilbert broke off his 2013 engagement with fellow country singer and former "One Tree Hill" alumna Jana Kramer.

Gilbert told E! News that his new wife continues to inspire him musically.

"She's been in my soul since the day I met her," he said. "She has and will continue to inspire song after song in my life."
