Fans of AMC's "The Walking Dead" finally got to see the characters of Rick and Morgan reunited in the closing moments of season five. Unfortunately, their reunion came under less than ideal circumstances. Rick had just killed the abusive character Pete and looked half mad covered in zombie innards (ew). As we saw throughout last season, Morgan has adopted a Zen-like appreciation for life and has refrained from killing even those that deserve it.

Though Rick and Morgan have been allies in the past, the very first image of season 6 paints the two in a conflicting light.

AMC released the above image and we can't help but think it gives off a bit of a "me vs. you" feeling, though not much is going on in the picture. Maybe we're reading too much into it, but Rick appears to be staring Morgan down in a less than friendly manner while his group and the citizens of Alexandria post up on opposing sides. Could a potential conflict have arisen out of Rick and Morgan's conflicting ideologies? Fans know that the Grimes Gang has become justifiably ruthless in their treatment of potential threats. It's how they have survived this long. That cut throat approach may not sit well with Morgan.

Looking back on last season, we know that Rick's crew and the Alexandrians had some issues simmering underneath the surface. We also know that Rick's freak out in the middle of the street at the end of season five didn't help matters. But it seemed like Deena had come around to Rick's survivalist mentality during the finale, further uniting the two groups in the process. Perhaps that common ground was short lived and Deena once again fears for the future of her people.

"The Walking Dead" will return to AMC this October.
