The actor who played young Anakin Skywalker in "Star Wars: The Phantom Menace" was arrested in South Carolina after a high-speed car chase on Wednesday.

Jake Lloyd, 26, was driving in Charleston, S.C. when police started following him. The pursuit turned into a high-speed chase that went on for miles, according to TMZ. Police said that Lloyd was passing cars on the double yellow line and driving recklessly at high speeds. Lloyd's car topped 100 m.p.h., according to New York Daily News.

The chase ended when Lloyd lost control of his vehicle which then ran off the road, crashed through a fence, plowed through a wooded area and came to a stop after smashing into a tree.

Lloyd was arrested for reckless driving, failure to stop, resisting arrest and driving without a license. He is still in custody.

Lloyd also appeared in 1996's "Jingle All The Way" with Arnold Schwarzenegger.
