Comedian Marc Maron has made a living off interviewing a wide range of people on his "WTF" podcast.

On the upcoming episode of "WTF With Marc Maron," he will do something that is groundbreaking for both the show and the platform of podcasting: interview President Barack Obama.

Obama is scheduled to be in Los Angeles this weekend to appear at fundraisers for the Democratic party hosted by Tyler Perry and Chuck Lorre. On Friday, he is scheduled to make a pit stop at Maron's California garage, where the podcast is produced, and the interview will be posted on Monday, June 22, Deadline reports.

"The White House reached out to Maron's team a couple of weeks back to set up the interview," according to Deadline.

While teasing the upcoming Obama appearance on this week's installment of "WTF," Maron said he wants it to be a "classic" interview while "trying not to lose my s--t."

Some of Maron's most famous episodes include interviews with Louis C.K., Robin Williams, Carlos Mencia and former "Onion" editor Todd Hanson. It is one of the most listened to podcasts on a weekly basis worldwide. The comedian also has his own show, "Maron," on IFC.

The comedian is not a complete stranger to politics. From 2004 to 2005, Maron was a host on Air America's "Morning Sedition," a liberal-slanted radio show.

Maron is known for his interview style, which can be described as a cross between emotional and, at times, abrasive. As AV Club points out, it will be interesting to see how Maron and Obama interact, as "both men are media savvy enough to know that a softball conversation won't pass without remark."

The president and first lady both have a reputation for being pop culture-savvy. He appeared on Funny or Die's "Between Two Ferns with Zach Galifianakis" to plug the Affordable Care Act back in 2014. Michelle Obama was "interviewed" by Billy Eichner on "Billy on the Street" earlier in the year to promote her Get Brighter campaign, one of her many pushes to enlighten children on healthy eating.

Slate named Maron's two-part interview on "WTF" with Louis C.K. as "the Greatest Podcast Episode Ever" in 2014. Check them out below.
