Sweden's Prince Carl Philip married former model and reality TV star Sofia Hellqvist in a beautiful ceremony in front of royals from around the world.

The 36-year-old prince, third in line to the throne, was visibly nervous during the commitment ceremony, as he fumbled with putting on his new wife's wedding band.

Among those in attendance were Princess Takamado of Japan, Queen Mathilde of Belgium and the Earl and Countess of Wessex from Britain, according to CNN.

The 30-year-old bride wore a gorgeous dress by Swedish designer Ida Sjöstedt with lace sleeves and back which revealed a star-shaped tattoo between her shoulder blades.

Sjöstedt posted a photo on her Instagram of the royal newlyweds.

"#fairytale #dreamcometrue #thesecretisout #royalwedding2015 #kungligtbröllop2015 #historicmoment #epic," she captioned the picture.

Hellqvist, who will be known now as Princess Sofia, carried a big bouquet of white and pale pink and orange roses, E! Online reported.

The couple's engagement was announced in June last year.

"We are looking forward to a summer wedding in the middle of June, when Sweden is extremely beautiful," they were quoted as saying then in a press release from the palace. "This will be a big day for us, and we are absolutely delighted."

Thousands of fans greeted the couple after the ceremony. They were then driven in a horse-drawn carriage through Stockholm before returning to the palace again for the wedding reception, Reuters reported, quoting the prince as telling the crowd, "It shows Sweden is a warm country with lots of love," before kissing his bride, drawing applause.

Congrats to the prince and princess!
