Police are looking for a Florida woman and her son after they failed to make an appearance in court to face charges that accused them of plotting to kill a divorce attorney who was seeking settlement money from the woman's boyfriend, according to suburban Indianapolis authorities, reported CBS News.

On May 23, Renee Perillo, 51, and Richard Perillo, 21, were released on bail bonds worth $20,000 after they were arrested on lesser charges outside the Noblesville, Ind., residence of attorney Rebecca Eimerman. The lawyer represented Renee's boyfriend, Dr. Arnaldo Trabucco, in a divorce settlement, and was seeking unpaid settlement money from Trabucco on behalf of his former wife, reported the Indianapolis Star.

The Perillos were hiding in the trunk of Eimerman's car when her husband found them and called the police. The Perillos told cops that they were sleeping in the lawyer's trunk because they were homeless.

The police found their story suspicious and decided to investigate further. "There was a lot of curiosity on our part but, obviously, it takes time to run down those leads and put that information together," said Hamilton County Sheriff Mark Bowen, according to WTTV.

Police then found a stolen vehicle with the Perillos' identification inside along with many disturbing items: tranquilizer gun with four darts, box of ammunition, two machetes, long-handled shovel with fresh dirt on the blade, long-haired blonde wig, roll of duct tape, alcohol prep pads, antibacterial wipes, fully loaded .40-caliber Glock, commando saw, hammer, multiple pairs of gloves, hypodermic needles, brown walking cane, two men's hats, shirt with a white collar that would be worn by a priest or clergyman and silicone mask designed to cover the entire head (depicting an elderly man's face/head).

Fellow inmates at the jail told authorities that the pair bragged about a "hit" they intended to carry out on Eimerman.

Warrants were issued Friday for the Perillos arrests on charges of conspiracy to commit murder, theft, carrying a handgun without a license, possession of paraphernalia, criminal trespassing and unauthorized entry of a motor vehicle, according to the Daily Mail.

"We're taking it very seriously and doing everything that we can to get these folks picked up before something happens to somebody else," said Bowen.
