A recent tweet from Mo Versi, the company's VP of Product Management confirms the software update's release. In addition to the Mo Versi tweet, a twitter user and an HTC U Ultra user uploaded a screen shot confirming the software update arrival to the device. The tweet from company's VP of Product Management states something like this "HTC U Ultra Owners! We have an MR out tonight that will improve the experience with bug fixes and additional features on the second screen! Thx!" The HTC U Ultra Smartphone software update seen in the screenshot has a software version 1.15.401.12 and weighs 638MB in size. The software update has HTC Sense Companion app "AI" features that the company mentioned during the time of HTC U Ultra Smartphone's unveiling. The HTC U Ultra smartphone users will receive the software update over-the-air (OTA) and users are requested to wait until an update notification hits the device screen. A 64GB of internal storage is also embedded under the hood, which can be further expanded up to 256GB via microSD card. HTC U Ultra runs on Android 7.0 Nougat OS and is powered by a 3,000mAh battery. In addition, the phone is equipped with a 12MP (UltraPixel) rear camera with phase detection autofocus, a dual-tone flash, optical image stabilization, and an aperture of f/1.8.
