NFL kicker Harrison Butker gave a much-criticized commencement address that warned about "dangerous gender ideologies," suggested working women were unfulfilled and criticized President Biden's leadership.

The Kansas City Chief's kicker gave the commencement address to 485 graduates at Benedictine College on Saturday.

Butker told the female graduates that their "most important title" should be that of "homemaker."

At one point, Butker quoted a Taylor Swift lyric but only referred to her as his "teammate's girlfriend."

"As my teammate's girlfriend says, 'familiarity breeds contempt,' " Butker said.

"I think it is you, the women, who have had the most diabolic lies told to you," Butker said. "Some of you may go on to lead successful careers in the world, but I would venture to guess that the majority of you are most excited about your marriage and the children you will bring into this world. I can tell you that my beautiful wife Isabelle would be the first to say her life truly started when she started living her vocation as a wife and as a mother."

Swift has been dating Chief's tight end Travis Kelce for months. The highly successful entertainer has not commented publicly about Butker's comments.

Butker told male graduates to "be unapologetic in your masculinity," and to "fight against the cultural emasculation of men."

Women responded to the address with outrage on social media. One person posted parts of his speech images from the dystopian TV show "The Handmaid's Tale."

Benedictine is a private Catholic liberal arts college in Atchison, Kansas.

Butker received an Honorary Doctor of Humane Letters degree from Benedictine at the commencement.

The Chiefs declined to comment to the Associated Press on Butker's address.

Benedictine turned off commenting on the address on its YouTube page.
