Student Protests Continue At George Washington University
Pro-Palestinian encampments have sprung up at college campuses around the country with some demonstrators calling for schools to divest from Israeli interests amid the ongoing war in Gaza.

Yemen's Iran-backed Houthi rebels, known for obstructing the global shipping industry in support of Gaza amid Israel's war, is offering a place for suspended students from U.S. universities following their involvement in pro-Palestine protests across campuses nationwide.

Sanaa University, a college based in Yemen which is run by the Houthis, issued a statement praising the humanitarian stance the students have taken in the U.S. and announced they have the opportunity to continue their studies in Yemen.

"We are serious about welcoming students that have been suspended from U.S. universities for supporting Palestinians," an official at Sanaa University told Reuters.

"We are fighting this battle with Palestine in every way we can."

Student protesters have rallied or set up tents in recent days to express their opposition to Israel's war in Gaza.

Multiple universities including, Columbia, UCLA, Brown, George Washington, along with many others continue to call in law enforcement in attempts to dismantle the encampments and protests.

The demonstrators urging President Joe Biden, who has endorsed Israel's right to defend itself, to take stronger action to stop the bloodshed in Gaza and demand that schools divest from companies that support Israel's government.

The U.S. and United Kingdom have reclassified the Houthi rebels as a terrorist group as their attacks on vessels in and around the Red Sea continue to hurt global economies.
