It was only a matter of hours before pro golfer Scottie Scheffler's mugshot was plastered on the t-shirts of fans.

The 27-year-old golf star was arrested Friday morning for driving around the scene of a fatal crash outside the Valhalla Golf Club in Louisville, Kentucky, while on his way to compete in the PGA Championship.

Scheffler, who faces a charge of second-degree assault of a police officer and a slew of misdemeanor charges, was photographed in an orange jumpsuit, before he was released without bail, just in time to tee off for round 2, ESPN reported, citing the Louisville Metro Department of Corrections.

Shortly after Scheffler's booking photo was made publicly available, onlookers at the golf championship were quick to sport shirts with his mug.

"Didn't take long," a photo of two men wearing tees and shared to the Tour Golf X account was captioned.

One man donned a shirt with Scheffler's viral mug, while the other wore a tee with a purple bandana photoshopped onto the golfer's head – likening the athlete to the "Prison Mike" character from a popular episode of The Office.

Scheffler, ranked the No. 1 player in the world, said in a statement after his arrest that he "never intended to disregard any of the instructions."

"This morning, I was proceeding as directed by police officers," he said in a statement released as he was warming up on the range. "It was a very chaotic situation, understandably so considering the tragic accident that had occurred earlier, and there was a big misunderstanding of what I thought I was being asked to do," he said, the Associated Press reported.
