If watching a normal game of skee-ball is too boring for you, Dave & Buster's is introducing a new activity to up the stakes: customers at the popular restaurant chain will now be able to bet on arcade games through the business' app.

The entertainment chain will partner with Lucra, a company which develops gamification software, to bring friendly gambling to its five million loyalty members. This decision comes as gambling reaches new heights in the United States - with many individuals, predominantly young men, routinely betting on professional sports.

"We're thrilled to work with Lucra to bring this exciting new gaming platform to our customers," said senior vice president of entertainment and attractions Simon Murray, according to CNBC

"This new partnership gives our loyalty members real-time, unrivaled gaming experiences, and reinforces our commitment to continuing to elevate our customer experience through innovative, cutting-edge technology."

Lucra was founded in 2019, as a tool to allow people to bet on friendly competitions. Its games are available to customers over the age of 18, across 44 states, while Dave & Buster's plans to implement the betting software at its franchises throughout the United States.

"Lucra helps our partners drive user adoption, increase retention and engagement and add new monetization streams to their business," said CEO and co-founder Dylan Robbins, CNBC reported. "Whether you're playing pickleball with your friends or playing golf on the weekend, we help to amplify that and digitize that experience with our partners."

Dave & Buster's has not yet given any indication about whether there will be limits on how much its customers can bet on arcade games like Hot Shots basketball, but Lucra says its average bet size is $10, according to CNBC.
