Laverne Cox is all about making history.

The 31-year-old "Orange Is the New Black" star will become the first transgender person to be immortalized by Madame Tussauds wax museum. Cox's likeness will make its debut at Madame Tussauds San Francisco on June 26 before the 45th annual Pride Celebration & Parade weekend.

"I am so deeply honored to have been asked to be part of the Madame Tussauds legacy," Cox said in a statement on the Madame Tussauds San Francisco website.

"When I think about being who I am, a black trans-woman from a working class background raised in Mobile, Alabama, this honor feels even more improbable and extraordinary. I hope that this will be a source of inspiration for everyone who encounters it to believe that their dreams matter and are possible."

The museum will celebrate Cox's "outstanding achievements and the impact she has made through raising awareness and her stance on equality and inclusion within the LGBT community." Madame Tussauds shared part of the process that went into making Cox's wax figure.

Cox is best known for her role as Sophia Burset on Netflix series "Orange is the New Black," which will return for a third season June 12. The actress, who has an active voice in the transgender community, is the first transgender person to be nominated for an Emmy in an acting category and to appear on the cover of Time magazine.
