Kanye West has reportedly bought bulletproof cars to ensure his baby mama Kim Kardashian and daughter North West can travel around Los Angeles safely. According to Hollyscoop, the rapper spent over a million dollars on the armored vehicles, one of which looks like President Obama's "Limo One."

West reportedly forked out money for two cars, a Chevrolet Kodiak and a personal SUV for Kardashian called the Prombron Diamond which is "a cross between a transformer and a tank," Hollyscoop reports.

A source close to the "Black Skinhead" rapper revealed to The Daily Star that  Jay Z urged West to step up his security detail now that they have a child. West will be leaving his family behind in October to begin his tour and wants to have the best security for his girlfriend and child while he is away.

"He aims to leave nothing to chance. His priority is to get delivery of the vehicles, especially Kim's before he begins his U.S. tour in October," the source said. "Kanye is fully aware that his new family is so high-profile they attract the attention of weirdos and psychopaths."

The source also revealed that he is even considering hiring body doubles for himself and the "Keeping Up With the Kardashians" star. The doubles will reportedly walk around with a fake baby to throw any "weirdos" off the real trail.

"If there have been any kidnapping threats already against their daughter, he isn't saying," the source continued. "But that fear is clearly in his mind. Kanye is also acutely aware that Kim has enemies who are resentful of their reality TV success and the thought of anything happening to her or Nori, their nickname for North, is the worst nightmare."

Even though this may seem very much over the top, Mike Raia, a Los Angeles based media analyst says a lot of celebrity's buy armored vehicles once they start having children.

"More stars, especially those with families are buying the sort of vehicles that boast military-grade specifications," he told The Daily Star.

Do you think Kanye West is overreacting or is the bulletproof cars necessary?
