Lea Michele made an emotional tribute while accepting her Teen Choice Award to late boyfriend and co-star, Cory Monteith, who passed away last month, the New York Daily News reported.

You can see a video of her speech on Sunday night here.

"I wanted to dedicate this award to Cory, for all you out there that loved and admired Cory as much as I did. I promise that with your love, we're going to get through this together," Michele said.

Monteith, 31, died last month after suffering from a heroin overdose despite previous attempts at rehab. The two began dating after meeting on the set of "Glee."

She also gracefully thanked her fans that have shown tremendous support through several forms of social media, creating trends on twitter such as #staystronglea.

"I just wanted to be here today to personally thank all of you. And tell everyone out there how much all of your love and support has meant to me, over these very past difficult few weeks," she said.

She closed her speech by acknowledging the amount of lives he touched.

"So whether you knew him personally or just as Finn Hudson, Cory reached out and he became a part of all of our hearts and that's where he'll stay forever," she said.

The crowd could hardly keep quiet, clapping and cheering after each word Michele spoke. Her "Glee" castmates accepted the award together, winning the Choice Comedy Show award. They also embraced Michele in a group hug.

"We know that Cory would have wanted us to dedicate this award to you guys," co-star Jenna Ushkowitz said.

Michele, 26, had kept her romance with Monteith quiet until they came out as a formal couple in early 2012. After the news of his death broke, she remained out of the public eye with the exception of attending Jamie-Lynn Sigler's baby shower and a few posts on social media sites.
