Mindy Kaling worked her magic to give "The Mindy Project" fans one of the best dance sequences ever on TV, featuring her on-screen boyfriend Chris Messina. She does it again in a new short film for "Hit Record on TV" that also stars Joseph Gordon-Levitt.

The short film will air during the second season premiere of Gordon-Levitt's series on Pivot, according to Entertainment Weekly. The variety show returns this month.

Kaling plays a nurse who is taking care of Gordon-Levitt, a former cruise ship dancer who can no longer walk after an unfortunate accident. Using her powers of black magic, she gives the entertainer another chance to dance alongside his idol Gene Casey, played by Messina.

Messina has shown off his impressive dancing skills a few times on "The Mindy Project." At the beginning of season three, it was revealed that his character Danny Castellano had a secret past as an exotic dancer.

Not to be outdone, Gordon-Levitt has shown that he's light on his feet while hosting "Saturday Night Live" on several occassions.

"Hit Record on TV" premieres on Friday, June 12 at 10 p.m. on Pivot.
