Global soda company Pepsi is looking to make new types of fizzy drinks geared toward consumers who love soda but don't want to guzzle down so much sugar.

"Following our recent launches of Caleb's Kola and Mountain Dew Dewshine, we're continuing to explore the craft space with Stubborn Soda," PepsiCo spokeswoman Gina Anderson wrote in an email.

Pepsi is looking to make the soda available this summer in dispensers and in restaurants, but it might come with a higher price tag, as the company is deciding on whether or not to classify the beverage as a "premium soda."

The new sodas will be made with natural flavors, contain fair trade-certified cane sugar and will not contain high-fructose corn syrup, according to Yahoo. The flavors will include black cherry with tarragon, orange hibiscus, pineapple cream and agave vanilla cream, and will be served from a fountain designed to mimic a craft beer dispenser.

The proposed line of sodas appears to be an attempt to counter the 10-year slide in soda consumption, Nasdaq reported. As consumers choose water, natural alternatives and energy drinks over the traditional soda, companies like Pepsi have looked to replicate some of the artisan approaches of smaller manufacturers, Mashable noted.

Companies are experimenting with zero-calorie sweeteners to replace high-fructose corn syrup and to appeal more to health-conscious customers.

Pepsi has not announced any potential restaurant partners just yet.
