Brett Favre decided to pop in to the Minnesota Vikings' practice facility last week and came away impressed with second-year quarterback Teddy Bridgewater.

"I was very impressed with him," Favre said. "I'm impressed with his skills and the way he handled himself his first year. So I look forward to bigger and better things from him."

Bridgewater doesn't need Favre's approval, but impressing a Hall of Fame quarterback who played for the Vikings at one time isn't a bad thing either. It couldn't have hurt the young QBs confidence to hear those positive reviews from a Super Bowl and MVP winner.

Favre also was surprised with the whole Adrian Peterson saga, adding that he saw Peterson a friend even though the two don't talk regularly following the two years Favre spent with the Vikes.

"People ask me all the time what type of guy Adrian was, and you know this, he's a very likable and nice guy, an extremely hard worker. But I think, much like his knee injury (in 2011), he will come back with something to prove. I think he will run lights out this year, just know Adrian. I think right now that's a part of this team that is much needed. I believe that."
