Taco Bell says it will serve beer, wine and "mixed alcohol freezes" at a new location set to open in Chicago this summer.

The Wicker Park location will be getting a makeover to look similar to the Asian Taco Bell restaurants that serve alcohol (Japan, South Korea and Spain) including added artwork, exposed brick walls and new seating, according to the New York Daily News.

The Mexican-inspired fast food franchise said the new look "will highlight the work of local artists" to give it a neighborhood feel that is more "authentic" and less "cookie cutter."

Taco Bell isn't the first fast food chain to attempt to alter its image. Wendy's has also been trying to shed its fast-food image, and is pushing to remodel some of its stores, as well.

Last month, Taco Bell announced it would drop artificial flavors and colors from its menu by the end of this year, although co-branded products like the Doritos Locos tacos would be exempt.

Taco Bell says its franchisee in the Wicker Park neighborhood of Chicago will ensure that alcohol is served responsibly at the new location, and that a third-party secret shopper service will be hired to monitor alcohol sales, NY Daily News reported.

A representative for Taco Bell, Ashley Sioson, said there are no other plans to serve alcohol at any other U.S. locations.
