Ellie Goulding, 28, finally spoke about her alleged "cheating" on Ed Sheeran with One Direction's Niall Horan, saying that while it is true that Horan and her went on a few dates, it was because she could, since Sheeran and her were never really in a relationship.

The issue sparked because of Sheeran's song "Don't," which some people claim is about Goulding.

"I did go on a few dates with Niall, but I was never in a relationship with Ed. I have absolutely no idea where that came from and why it was turned into such a big thing," Goulding finally confirmed to Elle UK in the July 2015 issue.

Goulding also comments about how female musicians are constantly defined by the men they have dated. It frustrates the "Love Me Like You Do" singer that even when a female artist can write great songs and perform well, they will always be judged on whether their relationships with men have or have not worked out, according to Hollywood Life.

Now that Goulding has set the record straight, people have turned their eyes on her recent partner, Dougie Poynter of McFly. Asked if they have plans to get married, she said they are not organizing a wedding, but the offer has been made, according to USA Today.
