The first Test between the West Indies and Australia begins on Wednesday and goes through Sunday, with a start time of 14:00 GMT each day. Watch the live stream below.

The biggest storyline heading into Test 1 is the absence of Shivnarine Chanderpaul, whom West Indies excluded from the two-Test series. The veteran's recent struggles - only 92 runs at an average of 15.33 in three Tests against England in April and May, according to ESPNCricInfo - forced the team to cut Chanderpaul from its 14-man squad ahead of Wednesday's Test.

"The exclusion of Shiv has caused a lot of talk. That's beyond me at this present time, my focus right now is on cricket," the Jamaica Observer quoted Jason Holder as saying, according to IB Times. "It's quite important we put cricket first and try to perform well against Australia."

The West Indies are ranked eighth in the ICC standings and desperately need a win. Australia, meanwhile, is No. 2 in the ICC standings and is the favorite to win the series.
