San Diego Chargers rookie linebacker Denzel Perryman hasn't been able to do much in the way of on-field work thus far into organized team activities due to a hamstring injury.

Perryman, unfazed by his limited status, wouldn't let that stop him from participating in a charity dodgeball tournament, hosted by teammate Corey Liuget, for the After-School All-Stars program benefiting more than 25 local schools.

Perryman dipped, ducked, dived and dodged and seemed to be having an altogether pretty great time. Check out the video for yourself below, posted to Perryman's Instagram.

Looks like fun, right? And it's to benefit charity to boot, so all's well that ends well and what not.

Except Perryman's injury status and the potential for hamstring injuries to linger - last season's second-round pick Jeremiah Attaochu missed five games of his rookie year due to a hamstring strain - had Perryman's coaches a little miffed.

"It's been discussed," head coach Mike McCoy said, via Michael Gehlken of UTSanDiego.com. "That's all I'm going to say. I've discussed it with him. That's it. You've got to get past these tests here before you do all of that stuff."

According to Gehlken, the team was "not thrilled" with Perryman's athletic display and has since "made its stance clear."

For many people, the fact that a young athlete wanted to brighten the days of a few kids likely takes precedent over hoping that he avoid injury at all possible costs so that he can get back to busting heads on a football field sooner, rather than later.

Still, while Perryman's decision to partake is admirable considering he was attending an event for charity, it's likely that Chargers coaches and fans of the team are more concerned with his ability to hit the field sometime in the near future than to play dodgeball in front of a group of school kids.
