After giving birth to the new heir to the throne on July 22, Kate Middleton and Prince William retreated to the Middleton mansion in Bucklebury, Berkshire to care for Prince George, and US Weekly has the scoop on how the first few weeks with baby Georgie went and how the new parents are adjusting.

US Weekly calls the new prince a "thoroughly modern baby," as he is being raised by the laid-back Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, who have decided to forego the tradition of immediately returning to Kensington Palace after the baby's birth so that Middleton can get some help from her parents raising Prince George. The Duchess has adjusted quickly to breastfeeding her son, though when she made it to the Middleton manor the first thing she and her new family did was get a good night's sleep, after a traditional Italian meal, no less.

Sleeping, feeding Prince George and family meals became the routine of the Duke and Duchess, as it tends to be for most new parents. The couple enjoyed an Italian meal cooked with the help of housekeeper Antonella Fresolone their first night, and a source close to the family assured US Weekly that there was "no special treatment" for the royals.

"William still has to help load the dishwasher after dinner," said the source. "The same will apply to George when he's a grown boy."

It seems that Prince George Alexander Louis will have as normal as a childhood as possible, if his parents can help it. Grandma Carole Middleton ran a tight ship with her own children, and since Prince William's paternity leave is up and he now leaves the mansion to return to his royal duties, she has been by her daughter's side to help care for the baby.

"They're loving it," a source close to the royal couple told the magazine. "Every day is bringing new things to learn."

And even though housekeeper Fresolone has been helping with diaper duty and feeding times, the Duke and Duchess have no nanny nor plans to hire one any time soon.

"They're doing as much as they can by themselves," the family source revealed. "The baby is always with one of them, or asleep."

Soon enough the royal couple will take Prince George on his first holiday at the Queen's Scottish estate in Balmoral, where they'll enjoy fishing, swimming and BBQs by the river, and the two are looking forward to some rest and relaxation away from the spotlight.
