Many of the rumors swirling around the casting of "Star Wars: Episode VII" have focused on actors returning to the series, specifically the "Big Three" of Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill and Harrison Ford. While it's exciting to think about what sort of role those actors would have in a new movie there are a myriad of other actors who would like to return to the "Star Wars" universe.

Which brings up the question, could Darth Maul be making a return? OK, even if he wasn't chopped in half and thrown down a seemingly endless abyss the villain from "The Phantom Menace" would be darn near Yoda's age by the time the new film starts, so it's pretty unlikely. That being said, Ray Park, the man behind the red demon face, would love to be in "Episode VII," according to Yahoo.

"I've said that I would play anything to do with 'Star Wars,'" Park said in an interview with Flicks and the City. "But really, deep down, I would love to come back as Darth Maul - that's what I want to do. I would go crazy, go mental, lock myself in a cabin, you know. Do the whole 'method' for two or three months, spear-fishing and stuff...just to play the character again."

Park also had a lot of nice things to say about director J.J. Abrams.

"I think it's great that J.J. is doing it," Park said. "I've known for many years that he's a big 'Star Wars' fan. What he's done for 'Star Trek' is phenomenal. I think he's the right man for the job and I'm ecstatic that 'Star Wars' is coming back."

In a recent interview with MTV News 'Elysium' star Matt Damon lauded the choice of Abrams to lead helm the new film.

"I'm happy that J.J. is doing it," Damon said. "I remember when they made the second batch, and I was so kind of nervous about it. Ultimately I think that the first three - they exist and nothing can affect them, so why not? If you can get a J.J. Abrams to - if you can get buy-in from him, then that's the best shot of [getting the film on the right path]."

Damon did not say if he had any interest in being in the film or not but it shouldn't be that much of a stretch to imagine Will Hunting developing his Jedi powers, would it?
