She's dropped her Disney image long ago and opted for a more outlandish style, both in terms of fashion and music, and now Miley Cyrus is teaming up with one of rap's wackiest artists, the fabulous Nicki Minaj, The Honesty Hour reports. What are these two working on?

In the new pic Mike WiLL Made It Instagrammed last night, Cyrus and Minaj hang out in a recording studio and smile for the camera, seeming to be at ease working with each other on a potential new track for Cyrus's upcoming album, "Bangerz."

"Beauty and The Beast ... Kik'n shit wit mileycyrus and @NICKIMINAJ. #MadeItMafia #Bangerz," Mike WiLL Made It, who helped produce Cyrus's smash "We Can't Stop," wrote as a caption.

"Beauty and The Beast" is likely a reference to Minaj's latest pop collaboration with Justin Bieber for his hit single "Beauty and a Beat." We're guessing Mike WiLL is supposed to be the beast here, however...

Will Cyrus and Minaj's new collab be reminiscent of Bieber's dance hit, or are they working on something new altogether? Although many fans have long wished for Minaj to her old sound and style from her mixtape days, it looks like the rapper isn't quite done with pop music yet, as she's said before she loves to experiment with new things and doesn't think rap should have to have one specific way of being made.

In May, it was announced that Minaj's third studio album will be "more rap than pop."

"I was thinking if I really wanted to, I could go back in and make another pop song like that to sell but I'm choosing not to do it. I'm choosing to get back to my essence and feed the core hip-hop fan," Minaj told Billboard at the time. "I feel like I need this because it's just a more powerful platform for me...Even when I'm not on stage performing my rap songs, it's more organic."

Despite the success of her poppy songs like "Super Bass" and "Starships," Minaj is returning to her roots as a rapper, but how will this factor into her collaboration with Miley Cyrus?

Though Cyrus's latest single "We Can't Stop" is pure pop, she's soon releasing a new single called "23" with Wiz Khalifa and Juicy J, produced by none other than Mike WiLL, of course, which features Cyrus singing the line, "I'm naughty by nature, like I'm hip-hop hooray."

Will Cyrus and Minaj's new song dip into hip-hop territory? It looks like it, and we can't wait to hear the official tracklisting for "Bangerz," an album that by title alone sounds like it will be full of radio and club-friendly hits, although fans have confirmed the rock ballad "Wrecking Ball" is a stand-out track.
