The three schoolgirls from the United Kingdom have reportedly made contact with their families after they traveled to Syria earlier this year.

Shamima Begum, 15, Kadiza Sultana, 16, and Amira Abase, 15, have traveled to Turkey from East London and then navigated their way to the areas of Syria, where the Islamic State (ISIS) has been in control of it, according to a report from The Guardian.

The families have even accused the police for their incompetence and failure to give them important information, saying that they would have been able to stop their daughters from traveling to Syria had they been given crucial information about their possible whereabouts.

Three months later, however, one of the girls managed to get in touch with her family saying that she is healthy, safe and well, but also implied that they will not be returning home anytime soon.

The other two girls have also reached out to their respective families through the internet, and the families believed that these messages were genuine, according to a report from ITV News.
