Piers Morgan has revealed that he will be making his return to NBC's America's Got Talent - but only as a guest judge, according to a report from Digital Spy.

The British journalist and former talk show host insisted that he will not be replacing any of the show's current judges - Mel B, Heidi Klum, Howard Stern and Howie Mandel -and that he will simply be added as a fifth judge later in the season.

He tweeted the announcement ahead of the premiere of the new season, which began on May 26.

Morgan was one of the show's original judges, having participated from 2006 to 2011. He also starred in the original version, Britain's Got Talent, from 2007 to 2010 judging alongside show creator Simon Cowell and British actress Amanda Holden.
