"American Idol" finalist Amber Holcomb announced that she is expecting her first child. The soulful singer rose to fame on Season 12 of the hit singing competition show. She made it to the top four along with Kree Harrison, Angie Miller and winner Candice Glover.

According to Hollywood Life, the singer took to Facebook to share the shocking yet exciting news with her fans by posting a picture of her sonogram. She captioned the photo "1+1+3" and tagged her reported boyfriend Lamar D. Denson in the picture.

She gained a lot of attention on "American Idol" and quickly became a fan-favorite. Now the 19-year-old had to defend herself against those same fans just moments after announcing the news when people commented on the picture telling her that her singing career was "over."

Holcomb quickly shot back telling that as long as she was happy that was all that nattered.

"I'm happy... That's all that matters... in the end it's gonna be and my child and whoever else wants to be there for us. I didn't ask for this, but I consider it a blessing."

Many fans congratulated the singer while others encouraged her not to give up her budding career. She insisted to her fans that she would not give up on her music career adding that she has a kind of talent that "will never go away."

Holcomb is currently on the "American Idol" Live Tour with the other members of Season 12's top 12.
