Where's an Iron Man suit when you need it?

Gwyneth Paltrow could have used one as she attempted to drop onto the stage during NBC's live Red Nose Day special on Thursday. Instead, she was left hanging in her harness a few feet above the floor.

The segment started with a blonde woman dropping from a helicopter, rolling onto the building rooftop and fitting into a harness. She then jumped through a skylight all while wearing black stiletto high heels.

Paltrow then descended from the ceiling of New York City's Hammerstein Ballroom gripping onto her wire harness. She pulled to drop a few more feet but she still couldn't put her feet on the floor.

"Oh God, I'm stuck," she told host Seth Meyers. "This worked much better in rehearsal."

The technical difficulties forced her to continue the segment swinging from the rafters.

"I think we pulled it off," Paltrow said after she finished her part.

"No, I think everyone noticed," Seth responded.

Paltrow eventually found her way back down and later joined Meyers to introduce the British celebrities helping out the program. She also appeared in a sketch with Rose Byrne and Stephen Merchant.

The first annual Red Nose Day raised money for multiple charities that help children living in poverty.
