Tahliah Barnett - more commonly known as FKA Twigs - is having a hard time adjusting to the massive spotlight that is constantly hovering over her now-fiancé Robert Pattinson.

"It's really hard - I can't even begin to explain how awful it is," the r&b singer told The New York Times of the constant media and paparazzi attention. "It makes you want to just stop everything sometimes. It makes you want to smash your face into the mirror."

The 29-year-old Pattinson rose to stardom through his role as vampire Edward Cullen in the "Twilight" series, in which he starred alongside ex-girlfriend Kristen Stewart, whom he dated on and off for six years.

In addition to FKA Twigs' discomfort with the "Water for Elephants" star's level of fame, she is overwhelmed by the racist remarks from many of his fans.

The bi-racial performer described the torment as "relentless" on social media, according to E! Online.

"There's no amount of songs I can sing or dances I can dance that will prove to them I'm not a monkey."

Twigs made it known that the offensive comments won't stop her from being creative and living her life.

"Nothing can impale my work or make me choose not to say things a certain way or make an image the way I want," the 27-year-old artist said.

As far as her feelings for the on-screen bloodsucker, she said, "I didn't see my life going this way at all. But it's worth it. I'm so happy."

Twigs' upcoming show "Congregata" is already sold out, so it seems that all aspects of her life are flourishing, despite the haters.
