Denver Nuggets guard Ty Lawson wants out. If he had his way, Lawson reportedly would prefer to be traded to the Dallas Mavericks as opposed to the Sacramento Kings, where he'd have the opportunity to reunite with his former coach.

It's not really a rumor anymore that Lawson wants out of Denver. He presumably responded on Instagram to a question about playing for Dallas with "I Wish," and Basketball Insiders' Steve Kyler is now reporting that wasn't just a throwaway answer Lawson gave.

"I have been told repeatedly he wants out of Denver, so there is a window there, but I keep hearing Dallas is his spot, we'll see," Kyler wrote Wednesday.

Lawson has been silent since the Instagram incident in late April, and it's uncertain whether he or his representatives have formally requested a trade. For Denver, trading him could be a possibility - especially if the organization decides to rebuild in the offseason. Lawson was reportedly available around the Feb. 19 trade deadline for the right price, which was believed to be a pair of future first-round draft picks.

Dallas will have a vacancy at the 1-spot when Rajon Rondo leaves this summer, but it's unclear just how much owner Mark Cuban would be willing to give up for the 28-year-old Lawson, who has two years and $25 million left on his contract.

Sacramento also has been linked to Lawson, with a report from Bleacher Report's Howard Beck claiming coach George Karl, whom the Kings hired in February, would "love" to acquire Lawson in the offseason.

Lawson is one of the fastest point guards in the league, and he improved his value after finishing the season with averages of 15.2 points and 9.6 assists per game.
