The Jacksonville Jaguars are hopeful that second-year quarterback Blake Bortles can eventually develop into a franchise quarterback. However, his rookie season wasn't exactly a slam dunk. Bortles threw for 2,908 yards with 11 touchdowns and 17 interceptions while completing 58.9 percent of his passes in 14 games last year. Granted, the Jags don't have the most talented roster in the league. But fellow rookie QB Derek Carr threw for 3,270 yards with 21 touchdowns and 12 interceptions while completing 58.1 percent of his passes in 16 games with a similar lack of weapons around him.

The Jags have some interesting pass-catchers in place. They invested two second-round picks into wide receivers Allen Robinson and Marquise Lee last year. Undrafted free agent Allen Hurns showed a lot of promise as well, and the offseason signing of Julius Thomas will give Bortles a go-to guy in the redzone. But Jacksonville still lacks a No. 1 receiver who could really expedite Bortles' development. Could they get that guy in the 2016 NFL Draft?

WalterFootball.com projects the Jags to select Ole Miss WR Laquon Treadwell with the No. 9 overall pick next year.

"The rumors about the Jaguars considering Amari Cooper were untrue. The front office drafted two receivers early the previous year, so it wants to give them time to develop. If, however, one of them disappoints this upcoming season, this will be an option Jacksonville will explore. There was previous optimism about Justin Blackmon turning things around, but it seems like the team has given up on him now."

Blackmon was recently denied for reinstatement into the NFL.

Treadwell suffered a gruesome leg injury last season but is expected to make a full recovery. In 22 career games, he has caught 120 passes for 1,240 yards and 10 touchdowns.
