Fox canceling "American Idol" on Monday had many fans mourning the show's end across social media, but they weren't the only ones disappointed by the news.

Judges Jennifer Lopez and Harry Connick Jr. also expressed their regret while speaking with reporters after Tuesday night's episode. The 15th and final season will commence on January 2016.

"I'm sad about the show ending, of course," Lopez said, although she's not giving up on the show just yet.

"Do I believe it's really ending? I have not come to terms with that yet. It might not," she reveal and then added, "You never know - because you never know these things."

Lopez also confirmed that she would return to her judge's chair next season along with the man on her left, Connick Jr. (Keith Urban was not available for comment).

When asked how he felt about being part of the show's last hurrah, Connick Jr. answered, "I'm honored, I really am."

He continued, "I was a fan of the show from the first season and then they asked me to be a mentor a few years back, I was thrilled. When I was asked to be a judge I was even more excited because I felt like I was part of something truly phenomenal and historical."

Last season or not, both judges are happy to have one last go-round on "Idol."

"It's sad to hear that kind of news. I'm glad that we have another year - that we get to have a farewell season, if that is the case and it will be over next year," Lopez said.

Connick Jr. has high hopes for next season and the talent he's expecting to show up for the final season.

"I need more talent to show up," he said. "As long as the talent's around, I think they're gonna come out of the woodwork next year, because everyone wants to be a part of the last season.  Boy, it's gonna be crazy."
